Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Registration of Equal Chance

In August of 2005, the Equal Chance Board was formally established in Songornya after a series of meetings held during the preceding two months. Throughout the course of these meetings, the vision and goals of the organization were thoroughly discussed and the Equal Chance constitution was drafted, agreed upon, and finalized. During the months following August, repeated visits were made to the Government Registrar office in Accra, the capital, to officially register Equal Chance as an NGO in Ghana. When the Board Members finally accrued all of the necessary legal documents verifying their identities, and when our application forms were complete and in order, we submitted all of these documents, which were then processed by the registrar. On October 21, 2005, we were given the government certificates formally establishing Equal Chance as a Non-Governmental Organization in Ghana.
